Tatum Rogers Day 2 question

Hafizah: In my book the inmates are insiders when they are reading there writings to Mark or duane. They feel belonged because they are all in there for the same reasons. when they read there writing they can relate to each others writing. They all have made mistakes and all want to get out of jail one day. Like on page 19 and 20 an inmate named Barreda read a writing named clouds. he said "The things I looked forward to were tagging on the walls, kicking back with the homies. I was so focused on these insignificant things that i didn't take time to look around at the beauty the environment had to offer." Any inmate listening to this can relate to his writing and can go back in there mind and think when they was doing wrong is society. The inmate will then relate to his topic and then feel belonged and share his emotions. An inmate also feels belonged in jail. They are all there for some reason and they has done wrong in society. The inmate will feel like an insider because they done bad like the other inmate next to him or her. The imates feel like outsiders when they think about being in jail. They are not in the society anymore. They are told when to eat and sleep. They dont have the freedoms of everyone else.

I felt like and outsider when I was in an alternative school in high school. I didnt have all the emineties like everyone else. Everyone always talked about there school and how cool they were. They talked about there peep rallys and basketball and football games. At my alternative school we didnt have a football or basketball team. we stayed in one class room all day and did baby work. I didnt feel like a student anymore. I felt like a temperary inmate.

I feel like a insider when im around my house. Everyone knows me. they say high and invite me to parties and to go play basketball, football, and sometimes baseball. People always calling me to come do stuff with them and i feel special. I feel like I am a role model and a fun person to be around.

Izzy:In my book True Notebook On page 19 and 20 a inmate named Ruben was influenced by his society. He was a former gang member and tagged buildings. He lived in a area with alot of gangs and people who ta Im not giving him and excuse for his behavior but when you are surrounded by bad influences all the time they start to rub off on you. You start to think that what everyone else is doing is right and they go by the term "if you cant beat them join them". they go by that method and mess up.My mother once told me everything that shine is not gold. It may look fun but its not. In addition he was also around people in his society that may influence him to do bad.

I am influenced by my hard working grandparents. They always doing something for some body and lending a hand when people need help. That rubbed off on me later on in life. I always help out people as much as possible and will sacrifice for them. My grandparents are very deep in there culture and that rubbed off on me too. I real all kinds of black history books from The Confessions of Nate Turner to The Autobiography of Fredrick Douglas. I have alot of pro black shirts too. I love knowing something knew about my race. I love my grandparents and the influence they had on me all my life.
