Tatum Rogers

Hello my name is Tatum Rogers. I was born on the south side of Chicago. My life didnt start so great when I was born. I was very sick as a child due to drug abouse from my mother and father. I was sent to a couple of foster homes and group homes. My Grandmother adopted me in 1995 and i been living with her since. My life has been a kinda tough one,but i dont use that as an excuse to acheive. I stayed in trouble as a child. I was always suspended and was in trouble with the law. I later got kicked out of school and was sent to jail.

Once I got out of jail I realized that i was heading for destruction. I decided to change my behaviors and decided to go on another path. I was in this program at my alternative school that let students get jobs. I decided to get in that program and i was building and fixing computers for schools that needed it. I helped out kids with physical and mental disabilities.

My junior year of high school I went back to main stream school. thats when i found the passion for music. I start playing the piano 8 months ago. and is now taking advance lessons. I graduated from Rich Central High School on May 23 2010. Threw the grace of God I made a bad situation good.

I decided I wanted to be a producer. I love audio and how it works. My passion is to produce a whole song that shots to No. 1. So i looked up schools that had what I wanted to do. I ran across Columbia and went to open house and fell in love with the school. I saw the diversity and out going people at this school. I wanted to go really bad. So i admitted my application. I was recommended for the bridge program which i thought was a great idea.

The three things that are important to me are family, respect, and God. Family is important to me cause they can support you when you need it. Respect is a must to me because that shows honor and love to someone. God is important to me cause he' done so many things in my life and i give him honor and praise. I know im going to make it in the bridge program becauseI'm a hard working person.
