George

Izzy's Question

Toward the end of chapter three in True Notebooks the inmates were asked to read one of their pieces of writing. This being a flashback of how Mark got there, this student is not in his class. Ruben Barreda was his name and he wrote about clouds through his cell window. At first he talks of the clouds as things he never took the chance to admire the beauty of. This influence was purely brought upon by him only because he is alone in his cell. Ruben reflects slightly on his days in a gang, also mentioning the gang symbols written on the window. On pg. 20 Ruben says if it were a year back he wouldn't have looked past the gang signs, he would have made his own mark for his gang because that is all he knew. Having so much time to himself he learned to finally look past the graffiti on the wall and start noticing life around him. Personally authority figures in my life had done nothing but try and help me. This has been a good influence whether I take or leave whatever it is they have to offer. Taking away from society is great because for the most part, all you see today is a lot of stupidity and ignorance, for example reality TV. It's good to see sometimes what you really don't want to become. As for my thoughts and attitude that is constantly changing and I don't think I can point out everything but weather really affects my attitude sometimes.

  1. I agree with some of the reality shows how some act ignorant and immature. And sometimes what we see on TV is not real or real when it comes toward reality shows and sometimes I think why some people on reality show do the things just to get famous even when it comes down to be immature or things like that. And society is good because we learn from our mistakes or choices we make that is my opinion when it comes down to society.
