Day 5 Tatums Question- Megan Schaus

I think every inmate in Central particularly has this struggle. I'm sure not every decision they have made has been a bad one. Each inmate is a human being, no matter what crime they have committed in the past. There is no such thing as perfect. Every inmate was somehow negatively influenced, whether it was an individual or gang. We don't know the people that they were before Central. After all the choices they have had to make, this is where they ended up.
We all have had times when we have made the right choices, and those times we have made the wrong choices. Whether or not we had consequences, we learned from our mistakes.
Other images you can use are sun and clouds or water and mud. When we use the sun and water, we think of happiness and purity. When we think of clouds and mud, we think of fog, and perhaps confusion. Making bad choices plays a big part in growing up. Getting a lesson from our mistakes and having to suffer through the punishments. We are learning from True Notebooks, that people have the potential to change. What happened in the past doesn't make up your future. Even if the inmates are sentenced to life, you can still live a promising life.
I think this is a great question considering people don't usually think about what happens before and after a situation. Changing your ways, will make you a better person.
