Day 6: Richard

Bashkim's Response

Everyone faces obstacles from their time of birth to where we are now. Eventually we all will face something that will halt us in our path we just need to think of how to get around it. If it's a person it will be the most difficult because of the the thought of not tackling the situation right of the back of your hand doesn't come to mind. Like if you were in class and you don't prejudge you wouldn't know who was the bully or ones being picked but since all humans use the 7/11 rule we all judge off what we see before we speak. Nathaniel is cocky because he is in juvenile hall and he doesn't want anyone to think he is soft or he'll lose his lunch to someone else. See another character named Benny Wong had issues with some of the kids in the writing class and all he can do is make smart remarks and talk back to make up for his size. Even though he had problems of being pushed around he got into the hearts of those inmates by writing something they related to; one of the inmates said he would take his lunch anymore because of that writing and how it touched him. See obstacles can be accomplished even without trying to accomplish them, it just takes time for the right moment to make it happen.

Carmelo's Response

Conforming is a part of human nature so we don't see the big picture until the damage is done. Most youth start conforming early by going into clubs at school or play with certain kids because it makes them comfortable. Whatever make you comfortable you are going to try and seek it; whatever makes you feel happy. Now pride can be added to the table like your country can go to war; what are you going to do? Take up arms or be called a traitor? See conformity starts by making the other "thing" look bad which makes you think in your head that if I do that "thing" then I'll be looked upon as bad person because I don't support the other "thing" if you catch my drift. So most people conform because they feel it right but you have to analyze the situation; Are they doing wrong? Or we are doing wrong? Most cases people side with which side that has more power than the other and the are afraid of being that small percentage because you don't have the force to change peoples minds or just leave it alone all together but threats will make you choose... it's all up to the person.
